Resume
I am a writer, designer and researcher, thriving in a multitude of actions and undertakings, from working with architects as a graphic designer to running a networked design lab in Portland, Maine, and teaching as faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University, Northeastern University, and Maine College of Art and Design.
I practice in a rich ecology of ideas, seeking to understand design practice, both the theory and application, and its societal effects. This work includes researching those marginalized in design history. In that work, I am exploring what it means to write for a broad audience and what they will find worth their attention and time.
My work and interests have been informed by my education in Graphic Design from Rochester Institute of Technology, my master's degree in Experience Design from North Carolina State University, and most recently, a Master's in Design Studies from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
